Monumental double spiral on northeast slope of tell.
2000
paper
300'
This double spiral delves into the neolithic site below ground and emerges with information about the mythic meaning of the images that the people here painted on the walls of their homes. Catal Hoyuk is important because it is the earliest example we have discovered of paintings made on human made walls. Scientists hypothesize that the images may have spiritual significance.
