I opened the sacred space with this spiral on the archaeological site above the place where a "rondel" from the Neolithic Period was used for presumed spiritual rituals approximately 7500 years ago.

The spiral was strewn with handmade "Footprints" depicting images from the excavation and left to decay during the harsh Czech winter--symbolically returning the images to their original location. Here is one Footprint as it melts into the early Springtime growth.

Adrienne Momi Footprints at Testice-Kjovice Installation
Miniature installation in the Cistercian Monastery in Brno
1999
Installation
50" diameter

We installed a replica of the Tesetice Spiral after the original installation had completely decayed. The group of collaborative artists recreated sculptures, prints and drawings at a "dvur" in the city of Brno (about 45 mins north of the original site). In this way, we could share our work with the general public, the press and scholars.

Interior of Monastery Chapel

In the Chapel, we hung oversized transparencies of the photo documentation in the windows creating the effect of stained glass. Vlasta, one of the the artists drew the large paper carpet runner using the imagery she had created in her earth sculpture on the site.
